How we vet HVAC contractors
Idaho licenses HVAC contractors and installers through DOPL. We confirm the license, insurance and that installers are licensed, then call references and look at a finished install. The full Standard →
When to book
Book furnace service in early fall and air conditioning service in spring. The first heat wave and the first cold snap are when schedules fill.
Across the Valley
Hot, dry summers and cold winters mean systems work hard in both seasons everywhere in the Valley. Late-summer wildfire smoke makes good filtration and sealed ductwork worth the money.
Red flags.
If you hear any of these from a firm, keep looking.
- Recommends a full replacement without a load calculation or measuring the house
- Pushes one brand before asking about your home
- Won’t put efficiency ratings and warranty terms in writing
Common questions.
Is a heat pump worth it here?
How often should I change filters?
Does a new system need a permit?
