How we vet electricians
Electricians in Idaho are licensed through DOPL. We confirm the firm’s electrical contractor license, that the people on site are licensed or properly supervised, and its insurance. Then references and a finished job. The full Standard →
When to book
Any time of year. Plan EV chargers and heat pumps around a panel check first, because capacity is often the real project.
Across the Valley
Older homes in Boise and Nampa often have undersized service and ungrounded circuits. Newer homes in Meridian, Star and Kuna more often need EV chargers and added circuits. Rural shops and outbuildings need their own feeds.
Red flags.
If you hear any of these from a firm, keep looking.
- Offers to skip the permit to save money
- Adds big loads without checking panel capacity
- Cash-only pricing
Common questions.
Do I need a panel upgrade for an EV charger?
Is my old panel dangerous?
